MJ and I heading up to The Entrance (Long Jetty) for the a few days over this Australia Day long weekend. We headed up on Thursday to beat the traffic and came home yesterday once again to beat traffic. It was wonderful to get away for a couple of days together, we haven't been away since our big trip back in October 2010.
We had a blast, we laughed and joked around together, something we don't get to do very often. It was bliss to escape the stress of our lives in Sydney and it be just about the two of us for a change - no parents, no friends, no nothing, just us!!!!
We found our accommodation via Wotif and stayed at The Jetty Motel, including breakfast for only $120 per night - so only $360 all up - bargain. Thanks to MJ's Christmas bonus we were able to cover the bill. It was a basic place, just bed, tv, shower, little bar fridge but it was all we wanted, as we spent most of our time outside.
The weather was great (up until yesterday when it started raining - thankfully we were heading home) so sunny and warm, just perfect. We walked by the lake and visited the long jetty which is where the town gets its name "Long Jetty". We went to the beach twice, did a short bush walk, went for drives, just relaxed. We did get to see the Pelican feeding which was wonderful. On Australia Day there were fireworks at night to be enjoyed. We ate at the club and the fish n chip shop, playing in the arcade.
It was such a wonderful few days, we were both sad to have to head home to the daily routine plus knowing MJ has to start studying his CPA again soon. So we've decided we are going to plan a short trip for our 5 year wedding anniversary in April now - fingers crossed that we can afforded it again.
Here a few photos of our adventures plus a video of some basketball fun at the arcade.
