Thanks to a lot of friends and family for birthday money last year at our 30th party we were able to pay for one of us, so that saved a bit of cash.
We headed up to Coffs Harbour last Wednesday and on Thursday the magic happened. If you ever head to Coffs Harbour go check out the Dolphin Marine Magic, it’s an awesome park and they are really passionate about marine conversation and awareness.
The swim lasted about 25 minutes where we got spun round in circles, foot pushed across the water while riding on a body board, a ride on the dolphins belly and a game of fetch underwater. We also got lots of cuddles and kisses, and we learnt so much about these wonderful creatures. I could swim with them every day.
While we were up there we also went to Coffs Harbour Butterfly House where there was some amazing butterflies, The Big Banana, Opal Centre, The Clog Bran, local markets (one which sold a fantastic organic donut), lookouts and beaches. We ate prawns, pub meal deals, very filling Indian food and way too much ice-cream (the best was the Mars bar ice-cream).
We stayed near Sapphire beach, which was a stunning beach. It was too dangerous and wild to swim in but it was magical to watch and walk along. We took so many photos of the beach and waves as everyday it was different, so many rocks were washed up and washed back, it was tranquil, we didn’t want to leave the beach. MJ went running along it every morning and loved feeling sand under his feet instead of the concrete path at home, I got lost in the sounds.
It was a long drive up there (6.5 hours straight, more when you stop) but it’s so worth it, the views we saw and the peace we felt made it worthwhile. Thank you Coffs for an amazing week, see you again one day.
